La Rissa Art work

Featuring on BBC 6 Music, Huw Stephens' BBC Radio 1 show and BBC Introducing, La Rissa are a dark-wave duo making spooky synth pop in a dim little attic in Leeds. Previously releasing their first EP 'Control' (2016) through Bandcamp on limited DIY cassette as a solo project, La Rissa (Larissa Drozd- vocals & synth) was featured on BBC Introducing in West Yorkshire performing a live session and interview.

In 2019 La Rissa evolved into a 2-piece (Tom Cuthbertson - percussion & production) mixing their 80’s electronic analogue synth production and powerful socio-political vocals with big nostalgic beats they opened up the BBC Introducing stage (2019) Live at Leeds Festival.

Supported by the Music:Leeds Launchpad programme and championed by BBC Introducing La Rissa are set to release their first single as a duo this summer. ‘inspired by post-punk, and 80’s nostalgia which makes for a really unique, dark sound that I can’t get enough of.’ - Emily Pilbeam, BBC Introducing. ‘….and she was a bit of a revelation. Early days but big heavy beats and that beautiful soaring vocal left me wanting to find out more…’ - Tony Ereira, Come Play With Me, God is In the TV Zine.

Continuing their progress La Rissa was awarded the accolade of 'Best Band in Bradford' by the 'Bradford Music Scene'
